We did it! Our bill to provide testing of newborns for ALD has been signed into law by Governor Dannel Malloy!
Brian’s Hope will be working with the state Department of Public Health in the coming months to see how the new law can best be implemented so this insidious disease is detected early in a child’s life.
Again, this is a huge step forward and we thank everyone who was involved. Working together, we have collectively helped increase the public’s awareness of the disease and have done the same with Connecticut’s 187 state legislators. The new law is Public Act 13-242.
